Parkinsons Books Presents Record Store Day – 21st April

Natasha Kitty Katt headlines Parkinsons Books Presents Record Store Day.

The Girls are taking over on Saturday 21st April!

It gives us great pleasure to announce this year’s Record Store Day event at Parkinsons Books.

After the success of last year’s bash, we thought we’d better raise the bar & provide something very special, our 1st all female DJ line up !

Headlining:

Natasha Kitty Katt
Over the last 6 years Natasha has established herself on the underground disco scene, spinning her eclectic blend of soul and disco centric music, for the likes of Defected, Ministry Of Sound (London), Liverpool Disco Festival, The Southport Weekender, Soul Heaven Ocean Beach (Ibiza) & Suncebeat (Croatia).

Her influences come from a soul obsessed family, headed by Dennis Probert. Together they host their fortnightly radio show, The Ghetto Disco Show.

Kitty Katt has had several releases on Midnight Riot, Masterworks Music, Tribe Records & her newly formed label Ghetto Disco Records.

In Support:

Carol Gilboy
We’ve been trying to get Carol to play the shop for the past 3 years so this certainly is 3rd time lucky. Carol grew up through Northern Soul heyday, experiencing legendary clubs like Wigan Casino, Blackpool Mecca & the Twisted Wheel in Manchester first hand. Still heavily involved with scene today, she can be found hosting or DJing at one of the many “Weekenders” across the region. She brings a record collection of real gravitas so we are certainly in for some rare treats!

Hannah Pinnington
Having travelled the world following her passion for Techno & House, Hannah brings an experienced ear to our Saturday festivities. She can be regularly be found crate digging, set planning & representing Macooza.

Smile Always
Eve is signed to local record label Reason 2 Funk & has worked the decks in Dubai & Abu Dhabi during the F1 Grand Prix. She brings an up tempo house vibe that takes influence from many varied genres.

Little Bird
We are honoured to host, long time bedroom DJ, Rachael in her 1st public gig. Like many of the women on this line up, Rachael has years of experience on the dance floor & is now translating her own vibe from behind the decks.

Markie
Originally from the Philippines, Markie brings to the U.K. her country’s passion for solid R’n’B grooves. Whilst growing up, she was fed a sound track of Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson & her major influence Mariah Carey. We’re in store for some slow jams & modern classics.
